UBC President’s Reception

This month, we had the honor of hosting a special Welcome Reception for Dr. Benoit-Antoine Bacon, the recently appointed President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of British Columbia. This event was organized in partnership with two UBC fraternities, Beta Theta Phi and Phi Delta Theta, who annually host the Drop the Puck for Mental Health hockey game to support mental health programs in the community. The reception garnered an impressive turnout, featuring UBC executives, students, alumni and staff from CMHA-VF. It provided a valuable opportunity to connect with Dr. Bacon, a dedicated advocate for mental health. We applaud his commitment to fostering open conversations and challenging the stigma surrounding mental illness. Dr. Bacon’s kindness and eagerness to continue collaborative efforts in the future serve as an inspiration to us all.
