December 1st is GivingTuesday. GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that happens each year. It’s a time when we all come together to celebrate giving and participate in activities that support charities and non-profits. There is no “right” way to participate as long as it supports generosity and giving. Donate, volunteer time, help a neighbour, or spread the word.
On GivingTuesday we encourage everyone to participate by showing your generosity in various ways:
– Donating to CMHA-VF to support children and youth programs
– Volunteering to help neighbours and community members, while practicing safe physical distancing
– Putting up colourful artwork in the windows of your home, making inspiring sidewalk chalk art
Impact of your donations
Your donations from GivingTuesday will help provide kids living with mental health challenges with activity based programming. CMHA-VF’s UROK program builds self-confidence, empowerment, social and coping skills as they create friendships with kids just like them – suffering from anxiety, depression or bipolar disorder – or living with a parent with mental illness.
“My son was hospitalized with Psychosis and I entered a whole new world and I found the impact on the individual, the family, the workplace. We’ve been involved with the Canadian Mental Health Association and thrilled that there is art programs available.
